Astrometrics
The United Federation of Planets is mostly located within the Alpha Quadrant, although there are member worlds in every quadrant. Station Deep Space Nine is located within the Alpha Quadrant, in the Bajoran system near the Cardassian Union. The Klingon and Romulan empires are located within the Beta Quadrant. The Borg Collective is located primarily within the Delta Quadrant, although part is believed to overlap into the Beta Quadrant. The Milky Way Galaxy is divided into four quadrants, each forming a 90-degree wedge as seen perpendicular to the galactic plane. The four quadrants are labeled Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
