This includes the actual episodes and movies produced by Paramount Pictures, as well as the official web site, books, CD-ROMs and other media created by those directly involved in the production of "canon" Star Trek.
Authorized:
This includes all publications - novels, comic books, software, games, etc. - produced by companies officially licensed by Paramount Pictures and operating under the supervision and guidance of the Star Trek producers.
Unofficial/Unauthorized:
This includes all other publications, including web sites that compile information about ships and other data seen on-screen and in official publications.
